Ya-Ya's First Birthday/Dedication Party

Look at this child! Is she not the most adorable thing ever? We celebrated at our house with about forty of our closest friends (can we help it if our friends have lots of kids?). Our wonderful pastor and his wife blessed our entire family with a precious time of dedicating Olivia to our Lord and praying blessings on her and us as her parents. Then we p-a-r-t-i-e-d!! We didn't have to show the birthday girl what to do with her birthday cake. I barely got it put down in front of her before it was on her face and in her hair! Like the true girl that she is, the favorite birthday present was a new pair of Sunday shoes (the baby dolls were a close second). Thanks, Hauntie J for feeding the addiction! Thanks, Al for the wonderful pictures!

Our First Blog!!

Okay, here we go! The absolutely not techno-savvy mama is trying this out! Time to take a deep breath and plunge into the real world out there.
Life for the Mehan's continues to be crazy, but always in a good way. With Thanksgiving and Christmas quickly chasing us down, I find myself reflecting on marriage, children, dreams laid aside, new dreams formed, you know, life in general! The days pass, some quickly (is it naptime already?) and some not so quickly (No, Sam! I told you before, you may not flush Mama's shoe down the toilet.). But as they go by, I realize how precious each one is. When I see the smiling faces of my children in the morning when I wake up and I cuddle in my hubby's arms as we are falling asleep, I realize, this is how it was meant to be.
